Why TAVO Works Differently
Traditional alarms use sound to force you out of deep sleep, which often leads to grogginess and stress. TAVO works with your body’s natural sleep cycles instead.
TAVO gently wakes you during your lightest stage of sleep using a soft vibration on the inside of your wrist. It does this by tracking your movement and detecting when you're in your light sleep within a set "wake-up window", 30, 45, or 60 min.
When TAVO catches you in light sleep, waking up is easier, calmer, & more natural, helping you feel less like you've been ripped out of deep sleep. Sometimes you may even notice rolling around and waking up before the vibration starts, this means you have awoken at the end of your cycle, in light sleep.
If TAVO doesn't catch you in light sleep, it will still vibrate to wake you at the end of your window.

1. Set a Longer Wake-Up Window; Match Up Your Wake Up with Light Sleep
Most people do best with a 45–60 minute wake-up window. Why? Because it gives TAVO more chances to find you in light sleep.
👉 In the app, you’ll see your sleep cycles mapped on a graph. Make sure the sleep cycle lines align with the top of the graph - that way you’re sleeping long enough to finish a full cycle. Ending a cycle before waking can mean the difference between groggy and energized.
2. Wear TAVO on the Inside of Your Wrist
Here’s something small that makes a big difference: position the chip on the inside of your wrist. The TAVO logo should be on the top of your wrist. The inside of your wrist has a natural pressure point, making the vibration feel stronger and impossible to miss.

3. Use the Backup Alarm for Peace of Mind
We get it, you want to feel safe knowing you’ll wake up on time. TAVO comes with a built-in backup alarm that kicks in five minutes after your latest set wake-up time. Even if your body doesn’t shift into light sleep before your window closes, you’ll never oversleep. (Make sure to set it up in the settings correctly by reading the in-app guide)
4. Give Your Body Time to Adjust
This is important. TAVO is teaching your body to wake up naturally, not forcing you up with sound. That’s a big shift! Most users say they feel a difference immediately, due to not having to wake up to sound. The benefits build over time, and due to TAVO waking you up in light sleep, it gets easier and easier to wake up.

The My Sleep section of the app is designed to give you perspective. It’s where you can rate how you feel each morning and then compare those ratings across 7, 30, and 90 days. This bigger-picture view helps you spot patterns, see how consistent habits pay off, and notice how your weeks stack up against your months. It’s less about tracking every cycle and more about watching your overall mornings improve over time.

6. Explore Nap Mode
TAVO isn’t just for overnight sleep. Sometimes you just need a recharge. Use Power Nap mode (under 20 minutes) to feel refreshed without grogginess. Or, go for the Long Nap setting, which is the length of a full cycle, when you want deeper rest. Both can be game-changers on busy days.

7. Make TAVO Yours
